Asbestos

Asbestos is life threatening. Asbestos is not anything to take lightly. The threat alone should create concern and curiosity to make you want to schedule                                                   to test your property immediately. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) "Asbestos is the name of a group of highly fibrous minerals with separable, long, and thin fibers. Separated asbestos fibers are strong enough and flexible enough to be spun and woven. Asbestos fibers are heat resistant, making them useful for many industrial purposes. Because of their durability, asbestos fibers that get into lung tissue will remain for long periods of time." (Asbestos, 2008). There is major concern for asbestos testing and removal because if asbestos were to become airbourne from demolition and construction, the fibers will enter the lungs through normal breathing and stick themselvs to the lungs, and eventually causing lung painful lung problems and ultimately death. There are many types of asbestos but the 2 main types seen in the Unites States are chrysotile and amphibole. These types of asbestos are strong and fibrous and commonly used years ago for insulation, Navy ships, roofing materials, tiles, etc.
